Other Goods > Building Supplies The troubles in the Balkans in the last decade have resulted in a large demand for building materials. Tri-Med has supplied large quantities of wood, cement, tiles and finished building products (doors, fittings, sanitary ware etc) into the region. Pursuing its "buy regional" policy, much of this was sourced in neighbouring countries where the costs were lower than in Europe and where materials were appropriate for the region. As a member of PROMPT, Tri-Med was also involved in the management of a procurement contract, monitoring the delivery of building supplies into Kosovo donated by the European Union. This contract called for the distribution and quality control of Euro 28 million worth of supplies. |
