History of Tri-Med

The Tri-Med Group was formed in 1984 and continues to be managed on a "hands on" basis by the founding partners. The company is specialised in the supply of procurement and logistics services to organisations operating in relief and development in the developing world.

Tri-Med is unique in the industry, it not only provides goods and services to the relief and development communities all over the world, it also provides a wealth of knowledge and experience derived over many many years.

Tri-Med's major strengths include :

  • Breadth of experience
    Tri-Med is acknowledged as a leader in this industry. Tri-Med has some 2,000 NGOs on its customer list, regularly dealing with more than 400 worldwide. This includes all major European national NGOs including the National Red Cross Societies, Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox and Muslim groups, national governmental development ministries and international aid agencies. It also includes all the major funding organisations such as European Union, EBRD and World Bank. Tri-Med has experience with the parastatal organisations such as UNHCR, UNDP, WHO, WFP, UNICEF, IFRC and ICRC. The company has worked for many national governmental organisations such as DFID, USAID, Belgian Foreign Ministry and Swiss Foreign Ministry.

    Tri-Med has worked with many smaller NGOs and is well versed in their procedures, preferred equipment and field programs.

  • Depth of experience Tri-Med is not just a supply operation, based in a European city. Tri-Med has considerable and extensive knowledge in the workings of the relief and development industry, many of our staff have lived and worked in Africa and Asia. Tri-Med has offices in several countries in these regions. There is a continuing policy of inter-office co-operation and training.
